Multiton Electronik GmbH celebrates 50 years and Frank Rotthoff joins the management team
In conjunction with its 50th anniversary, Multiton Electronik GmbH has announced a change to its executive management team. Frank Rotthoff, who joined the company on 1 June 2008 as General Manager focussing on sales, marketing and service, has become the designated successor to the current Managing Director, Detlef Kruell.
Bringing over 20 years of international sales and marketing management experience within the electronics industry into the company, Frank has been tasked with significantly growing the company’s business while also helping the company to realign its sales strategy, develop new applications, target customers and enhance harmonisation of structures and processes with Multitone in the UK.
“As a technology leader and company with a great tradition for wireless communication solutions, as well as alarms, monitoring, notification and time critical messaging, there’s great market potential to grow our business with double digit percentage rates in the forthcoming years”, says Rotthoff.

Company history

2006: Multitone celebrates its 75th year anniversary and thanks all its customers and partners for their support.
2000: The product spectrum for Multitone grows significantly. As well as paging systems, Multitone begins to develop and supply telephony and DECT systems and lone worker solutions.
1970-1990: Multitone launches a large scale campaign promoting paging systems with 'group call', the first back speech arrangements of late announcements with synthetic voice, the first digital receivers and more.
1967: The paging market grows to become Multitone's core business.
1956: Multitone develops and subsequently supplies Saint Thomas Hospital in London with its first paging system. Multitone is acknowledged as the inventor of paging technology.
1940s/50s: Multitone specialises in the development and production of electronics for medical applications and becomes one of the market-leading suppliers in this field.
1931: Multitone Electronics is founded by Alexander Poliakoff, entrepreneur, inventor and developer. Among other successes, he develops a hearing aid for Sir Winston Churchill and goes on to remain Chairman of Multitone for more than 40 years.
