Enhanced DECT solutions from Multitone

Multitone offers total solutions packages, which can be a combination of lone worker, paging, integrated alarms, and DECT solutions.

Using one of Multitone’s alarm and messaging products with DECT allows mobile staff to receive messages from a wide range of alarms and respond immediately to protect life or property, or to improve customer service or patient care. Typical alarms include customer service, patient care, building management systems, heating and cooling systems, personal security and machinery.

EkoTek alarm messages can also be sent to a DECT handset through the Access Integrator or P318M to further enhance service and efficiency. This provides the additional benefit of text messaging to the EkoTek pager and DECT handset, which ensures personnel respond quickly to the alarm and can call for assistance or manage other personnel while mobile.

DECT solutions
DECT is recognised as the optimum secure voice solution for staff mobility and enables management on the move to ensure that your staff can always be contacted. DECT handsets are easy to use, robust and can be used for voice calls and text messaging. Multitone’s DECT solutions can be used for localised mobility cells or to provide site wide wireless coverage for large multi-storey buildings. EkoTek technology
EkoTek is a two-way wireless messaging product that provides a simple and cost-effective messaging solution for healthcare, industry, retail and leisure to improve service, protect staff and locate personnel.

EkoTek has a unique mesh network that requires no cabling and utilises call fobs, pagers, repeaters and a messaging hub. Fast and reliable alerting combined with accurate location reporting, EkoTek also addresses safety and communication concerns.

Alarm & messaging solutions
Access Integrator alarm and messaging solutions are designed to work with Multitone’s wireless servers and telephone systems, to effectively manage alarms by providing messaging to DECT handsets for managers on the move. Alarms are received from alarm contacts that have been activated by an incident, or from receiving an alarm through a serial data port from a building management system, fire alarm or other alarm management solution. Alarms are processed and text messages are sent to mobile users with DECT handsets as a single message to one user or team.

Company history

2008: Today, our equipment is in use 24 hours a day, 365 days a year by over two thirds of the UK's hospitals and emergency services and we have a worldwide distribution network for our advanced communication solutions.

2007: Multitone releases its new EkoTek technology, a cost effective, radio-based solution, ideally suited to lone worker protection. With fast alerting and precise location (within a 10 metre radius), EkoTek is ideal for numerous applications, including industrial premises, offices, psychiatric units, education centres and hospital/ healthcare sites.

2006: Multitone celebrates its 75th year anniversary and thanks all its customers and partners for their support.

2000: The product spectrum for Multitone grows significantly. As well as paging systems, Multitone begins to develop and supply telephony and DECT systems and lone worker solutions.

1970-1990: Multitone launches a large scale campaign promoting paging systems with 'group call', the first back speech arrangements of late announcements with synthetic voice, the first digital receivers and more.

1967: The paging market grows to become Multitone's core business.

1956: Multitone develops and subsequently supplies Saint Thomas Hospital in London with its first paging system. Multitone is acknowledged as the inventor of paging technology.

1940s/50s: Multitone specialises in the development and production of electronics for medical applications and becomes one of the market-leading suppliers in this field.

1931: Multitone Electronics is founded by Alexander Poliakoff, entrepreneur, inventor and developer. Among other successes, he develops a hearing aid for Sir Winston Churchill and goes on to remain Chairman of Multitone for more than 40 years.
