Saujon Les Thermes specialises in the treatment of anxiety and other psychological problems. The facility features studio apartments, treatment rooms and communal areas where clients can relax and interact with other guests and staff. The implementation of i-Message 100 has sped up communications, with queries being resolved more quickly and customer service enhanced.

Background
Since 1860, Saujon Les Thermes on the West Coast of France has specialised in the treatment of anxiety and other psychological problems. By utilising the healing properties of the local spa water, the centre offers sauna, hammam Turkish-style bath and massage treatments to aid the wellbeing of its clients.

The facility features 56 studio apartments as well as treatment rooms and communal areas where clients can relax and interact with other guests and staff. The spa prides itself on offering complete relaxation for guests, who typically suffer from anxiety, overwork and stress – with many being referred by medical practitioners for treatment.

A key part of coordinating the facility is effective communications. Staff are busy behind the scenes organising the services and meeting the needs of clients, so the communications system needs to be highly reliable but also discreet. To ensure all these needs are met effectively, Saujon Les Thermes turned to local communications installation specialist EMC2 for expert advice, with Multitone’s i-Message 100 chosen as the ideal solution.

The Need
Saujon Les Thermes had previously used a wireless telephone system for communications around the site, but the management and operations teams felt a new communications system could offer further benefits to clients and staff.

Additionally, having assessed the communications needs, the management team wanted a system which could easily integrate all the daily needs along with fire alarm systems. Equally, it was assessed that productivity and staff effectiveness could be increased by a system utilising mobile devices such as smartphones.

EMC2’s Head of Technical Operations, Yoni Bouffard, commented, “The team at the spa felt their communications system could be more effective and offer greater functionality, so they contacted us for advice. We have been a supplier to the spa since 2003 and understood the organisation’s needs well, but we did a thorough survey and presented the management team with our suggestions.”

The Solution
Taking all the needs of the spa into consideration, EMC2 recommended Multitone’s i-Message 100 solution. Ideally suited to small and medium-sized businesses, i-Message 100 shares many of the features and benefits of the original i-Message solution, providing an internet-based system that offers greater control over essential communications, along with peerless resilience and reliability for complete peace of mind.

Designed specifically for critical or busy communication environments, i-Message 100 routes traffic to the right person in the most appropriate and expedient way. Although Saujon Les Thermes opted to use the system predominantly on mobile devices/smartphones/tablets, it could equally be used across internal phone systems, DECT telephones, or pagers.

i-Message 100 not only integrates with staff on mobile devices, but also seamlessly integrates fire alarm systems and other buildings and property management systems. This enables the management team to assess any situation immediately and comprehensively.

Equally, i-Message 100 ensures important information is pushed to the intended staff recipient, irrespective of their location or choice of communications device.

The Result
The implementation of i-Message 100 has revolutionised the way communications are used at Saujon Les Thermes – messages are routed to the right member of staff and alerts can be sent silently to avoid disruption to clients. Consequently, communications have been sped up, with queries being resolved more quickly and customer service enhanced as a result.

The use of mobile devices also means that voice calls, alerts and alarms can be transmitted and received around the site, both inside and outside the main buildings and into the grounds. This allows staff to move freely around the whole site, safe in the knowledge they won’t miss important communications.

For example, when an alarm has been triggered, the cause of the alert (such as a fire) and required action from it (potentially an evacuation) can be displayed on the mobile device, ensuring staff are fully briefed on the situation.

Saujon Les Thermes and EMC2 are also looking at potential developments of the solution, as Yoni Bouffard concluded, “Multitone’s solution has been a perfect fit for the spa and we are looking at new ways to use i-Message 100’s functions, including a dedicated nurse alarm call. We wouldn’t hesitate in recommending it as a highly flexible, reliable and cost-effective solution for any similar organisation looking to ensure maximum usability and return on investment from its communications.”
