EkoTek is a unique wireless solution, which uses the latest technology to offer an alerting system for lone workers and employees. It not only gives a two-way communication system, but also improves emergency response through accurate location of alarm signals.
EkoTek eliminates the need for complex radio surveys and is straightforward to deploy and expand in any environment with assured performance. The self-configuring system allows for the replacement or repair of components without requiring pre-programming or expensive cabling.

WHY EKOTEK?
- Lone Worker Protection and Monitoring
Lone Workers, especially in industrial environments, need to be monitored to ensure they remain safe. EkoTek's mobile alarm units contain both man-down and dead-man features: man-down detects if the alarm unit is tilted due to the worker falling down and dead-man periodically alerts the worker to press a button on the alarm unit to show that the worker is well.
- Personal Security
Each EkoTek alarm unit has a button that immediately generates an alarm, with accurate location provided by the location beacon from a local repeater. The alarm is sent to the hub where it is displayed and forwarded on to EkoTek pagers, EkoTek fixed display units or to an external paging system. Unlike 1-way radio systems, EkoTek's 2-way radio allows the EkoTek pager to be used to accept the alarm and send a message back to the calling alarm unit that assistance is on its way.
- Location Tracking
Patients carry a call fob that provides both the ability to call for assistance, with accurate location information to allow the patient to be located and also reports the patient location to the hub as the patient moves around, irrespective of whether the patient has called for assistance. Someone wishing to locate the patient (such as a care worker) simply checks the patient location list displayed on a web browser screen to find out the patient's location.
- 2-Way messaging with pager user response
Unlike traditional 1-way pagers EkoTek's patented technology provides 2-way radio messaging that allows both delivery and user response (yes/no) to messages shown on a web server.
This innovative system is ideal for task management, receive and respond notifications and monitoring of work flow. This functionality is widely used within healthcare and retail.
PRODUCTS
All EkoTek products have a 2-way wireless interface. 2-Way wireless allows configuration to be downloaded from the central hub to each product, greatly reducing the need for product variants and making it straightforward to change the operating configuration of each device using the hub web browser interface.
- Snatch cord pager
The pager is able to display received messages with acknowledgements as well as generate an alarm from the user-activated, dead-man or man down features. It also features an a rip cord for alarm activation (panic alarm).
- Call fob
The Call fob allows an assistance call to be generated either by the User pressing a button or automatically by the dead-man or man-down features. Accurate location information is obtained from nearby repeaters. The call fob can also report the user's location to a hub web page as the user moves around, allowing user tracking applications such as patient or visitor location to be implemented. Acceptance of assistance calls by an EkoTek pager is indicated at the call fob to reassure the user.
- Hub
The hub displays assistance call messages, showing the calling user and location. Device configuration is stored on the hub and can be changed using a PC running web browser software such as Internet Explorer. Statistics and logs are collected and stored at the hub and can be viewed using a web browser. Additional web browser functions include creation of pager messages, allowing messages to be sent to individual or groups of pagers and also location display to allow call fob or pager users to be located.
EkoTek® slave IP hub
This offers synchronous connection via LAN to a master hub, and enables effective wide geographical coverage.
- Repeater
Repeaters automatically form the backbone mesh radio network, relaying messages to/from the hub. The network physical layout is determined by the placing of Repeaters, which may extend across floors and buildings. Repeaters are battery powered and do not need any wires, making installation very quick and low cost. Each Repeater provides a location beacon signal for accurate location determination for alarm signals and also for tracking.
- Solar-powered repeater
For outdoor coverage with a rechargeable solar powered cell. This repeater is tested to IP65 and is also UV and corrosion proof.
- Call point repeater
A repeater unit with a red push button for alarm activation.
- Call point repeater (alternative alarm activation option)
With contact for connection to external switches or third party pull cord for alarm activation.
