The system creates a reliable, battery-operated, self-healing wireless mesh network which transmits the location and alert-level of an alarm, triggered at either fixed alarm points or via a discreet, portable personal safety alarm, directly to designated responders, with alert acknowledgement and auto-escalation should the alert go unnoticed.
Our staff safety alarm solution is ideal for many different applications within public and private healthcare, psychiatric care and rehabilitation, animal shelters, education, manufacturing and in courts of law to name a few. Thanks to our ATEX pager, the system can also be deployed in areas with a potentially explosive atmosphere.
Provides granularity, ideal for indoor use in buildings with many rooms.
Ideal for outdoor use and large indoor spaces, like warehouses or factory floors.
The Trust made the decision to implement a system that can alert security personnel of a problem or potential problem so they can be dispatched to prevent or deal with it. We put the project out to tender and chose Multitone and EkoTek because the solution seamlessly integrates with our existing communications network and also because we have an excellent long-standing relationship with the company – which has proven to be a highly reliable and supportive partner.

15% of NHS staff experienced physical violence from patients, their relatives or other members of the public over a 12-month period (NHS Staff Survey 2019).
Across England & Wales, 374,000 adults experienced violence at work in 2017/18 (CSEW).
Slips, trips & falls accounted for 29% of non-fatal workplace injuries in 2018/19 (RIDDOR).
The system notifies you automatically if there's a fault: however, broken or disrupted repeaters won’t prevent the transmission of an alarm. As the system is fully wireless, it's economical, quick and easy to install.
The red button triggers a critical alert to summon help, including location and user information. An escalation process ensures all alarms need to be accepted with a response.
The blue button offers a second non-critical alert to that of the emergency alert.
During an incident, pulling the snatch cord provides an instant alarm should the device be removed from the wearer.
Portable units can be configured to raise an alarm if no response is received to a scheduled request, with escalation.
Portable units can be set up with man-down functionality, so that on suffering a fall, an alarm is raised with escalation.
The hub is the system’s central control unit, displaying alarm messages, identifying users, their location and if needed sending messages to devices. Device management, history and configuration is also controlled through the hub via a PC interface and web browser.
The mesh network repeaters provide the overall network coverage and enable alarm location to be reported. For easy installation, the repeater is battery powered, offering up to 2 years’ operation; alternatively, the unit can be mains-powered. An anti-ligature variant is available.
This enhanced call point and repeater solution extends network coverage and enables precise alarm location reporting. It features a red button for one-touch emergency activation, ensuring staff can quickly summon help. Designed for demanding environments, the IK10 is certified for high impact resistance, making it ideal for settings such as mental health facilities, custodial environments, and high-risk healthcare settings.
Key features include:
The IK10 Call Point and Repeater provides a robust and reliable solution for enhancing staff safety in critical environments.
This call-point repeater provides network coverage and enables alarm location to be reported, and also includes a red button for raising emergency alarms and summoning help to its location. For easy installation, the call point repeater is battery powered, offering up to 2 years’ operation; alternatively, the unit can be mains-powered. An anti-ligature variant is available.
The rechargeable portable alarm fob allows an assistance request or emergency alarm to be raised either through the user pressing a button (blue for assistance, red for emergency), or automatically through the dead-man (acknowledged by the grey button) or man-down features. Accurate location information is obtained from the repeater network and relayed to teams for immediate assistance. The unit is IP67 rated for dust and water resistance and made with antimicrobial materials.
The rechargeable Messenger is a multi functional device, capable of both displaying messages and generating an assistance or emergency alarm. Its multi-colour display shows alarms from other Messengers and call fobs (lighting up blue for assistance, red for emergency), and allows the user to accept the alarm and signal back to confirm that assistance is on its way. Users can also receive messages sent from the hub administrator. The unit is IP67 rated for dust and water resistance and made with antimicrobial materials.

Ligature resistant version of the EkoTek network repeater. Ideal for mental health facilities, rehabilitation clinics and prisons.
The EkoTek Ingress Protected Repeater is designed to operate outdoors and in humid indoor environments, such as spas, greenhouses, labs, breweries, abattoirs or industrial sites.
The EkoTek Maxi Hub provides greater power and extends the current capabilities of the EkoTek System, supporting up to 900 devices. It is usually recommended for big systems and requires SER for radio coverage.
The EkoSecure Dual-band Pager (ESPAG) operates at both 2.4 GHz and 868 MHz – working with both the indoors EkoTek staff safety system and the outdoor EkoSecure system. It is IP67 certified, rechargeable and has a battery life of up to 48 hours.
The EkoSecure Dual-band Repeater (ESREP) is a mains-powered unit with battery backup. It provides EkoSecure network coverage outdoors and is designed to be mounted outside. The EkoSecure repeater range is around 60 metres when working to other ESREPs. It can be operated as a converter from the indoor EkoTek network to the EkoSecure outdoor network (2.4 GHz to 868 MHz). IP66 rated plastic case.
The EkoSecure location repeater works in tandem with the ESREP. By placing location repeaters within range of an ESREP, you can improve the location accuracy of the outdoor EkoSecure system.
The EkoSecure external antenna can be used to provide better coverage for an ESREP by mounting it in a high place.
